Who runs their f70 in DP Tones? and can you tell me why you do?

Okay since no one will answer my question:sadwalk:, i"ll just say i think i like the DP tones.

I do! I do! :jump: I've been running DP tones for several years now...said in the manual it gives the most amount of audio feedback pertaining to targets possible. A guy can hunt blind with this setting and pretty much know whats under the coil based upon the strength, size and tone...even the depth for the most part...Its tough to use my other 4 tone machine after running DP on the 70...a guy can tell a dime from a Q, etc..then, all those strange signals that are not coins jump out at you since you hear the difference. I like it!

DP, SL, 2F, 3F...man I love all these new combination of letters, numbers and terms to learn.
Can't wait to get mine!

Me too. Silver never sounded so sweet as it does in Delta Pitch. If you have experience with a sound only machine, you will love DP. Iron comes in ultra low and the round foil seals, you know, the ones that sound like ladies gold rings 20 to 22, will have a higher low tones. You actually won't need to look at your display until you want to start unraveling zincolns from pre 1984 pennies and clad dimes. Hardest part is getting use to hearing low nickels. But once you do you will never go back.------------HH

yeah on the low nickel tone.!..same for me, thought it was my hearing...takes concentration to hear those nickels, and they TID in from 28 on up to 34 depending upon the depth for me...median being 32...
Anyway, thats why the 70 has those 3H or 4H tones which a lot of folks run too...makes the nickels tone in high pitch, or so I've read.

Regardless, so many different tone set ups a fellow can find one that fits their style perfectly...I settled in on the 1 disc, DE mode, DP tones, low/mid sens, -3 thresh, F3hz, no notch, and dont fool around with anything except the sens, higher in the clean dirt/sand/snow, lower in the totlots and trash and along a fence. Wish I had the time to fool with the settings a little more, but when I'm out, I like these settings that do me well, and dont want to lose any detecting time fiddling around experimenting. I dont hardly EVER ground balance...about once per year I'll do a Factory Reset just for giggles..but again, I'm hunting shallow clad/jewelry and fast...you deep silver guys might want to GB often for better results...REVIER should have a hoot when he gets his! I look forward to what he thinks about how the 70 stacks up to what he has been using..

Me too Mud. I think he will adapt to the 70 without a bit of a problem since these F series detectors are so similar in language. Did you see Dirtfishing and the F5 on youtube?
I think my wife should get an F5 with a 5"x8" DD for christmas:rofl:-----------HH

Mud, when i used my friends f70 a few years ago i just ran the program he set.I Never messed with the set up. But now i got my own f70 i will set it as i wish. and i like the DP tones. When a person gets comfortable with DP tones i think they will be able to figure things out betwixt the good objects and the pretty good objects .

Exactly Yowow. Everybody has a little different theory about the why's and why not's and look at things somewhat differently in their own ideas. There is no wrong answer.
This is why these forums are so popular. You take someone's experience from here and another one from there and create your own understanding of things. When you explain your ideas, they become part of someone else's understanding. I believe it's not just F series or Fishers for that matter but all brands and all individuals in general. These stories we tell can reveal so much inside info that the teller doesn't even realize he has contributed. We call it treasure hunting because were not just a bunch of people walking around with an electrified stick in hand but along with them we carry a theory in our search. For me it started even before having my first detector when I read the words, "why did you find what you found where you found it" written by someone who just happened to be swinging an F5. Damn, I still want one. I didn't mean to get this deep into thought this early this morning, I think someone put something in my coffee.:yikes:
