Whoo hooo a family vacation.

We are finally going on a week long vacation together. the last several have just been a couple of days. We are heading to gulf shores in the morning. my neice and her husband are going to stay at our house while we are gone and take care of the animals. I have never been to the ocean, I seen it once while in maryland but have never been close to it. I can not wait to just relax and do a little detecting and digging in the sand with loren. And taking a long walk with my to girls hands in mine {liz and Loren}. yall keep us in your prayers that we will have a safe and relaxing trip.

Go to Lambert's and catch some rolls! lol Eat some good seafood for me while there. My boss is there right now. I usually make it there once or twice a year. I'm about 4 1/2 - 5 hours away from Gulf Shores/Orange Beach from here in North Alabama. Notice our sugar white white beaches and emerald water. Looks a lot different from the brown sand and darker water of the Atlantic.

Hey Lisa! Lambert's is on our list for sure! We've been told by many that it is really good. We love seafood! Since we are staying in a fully equipped condo, I think will the hit the local seafood markets and buy some things to cook ourselves. I live to cook, so it's not a chore for me to cook on vaca. Travis and Loren have never been to the beach at all (I've only been to Panama City a few times), so we are mainly looking forward to shelling and playing in the sand.

I enjoy going on in to FL. to Pensacola, Destin, Ft. Walton, and Panama City. You are going to find that Gulf Shores/Orange beach is much more laid back and not near as much "stuff to do" when it comes to the amusement parks and things like that. It's rather quiet in comparison. Hope yall have a blast. Oh yeah, we LOVE seafood too. We eat it here at home on a regular basis. Not hard for us to get it here since Bama is on the coast.

Panama City and that sealed the deal for us. Actually, I though about Dauphen Island, but I was afraid it would be too laid back for Travis and Loren. I'm perfectly happy to chill on the beach with my nose in a book for hours, but they aren't. So, I hope we have made a good choice! I am jealous of y'all access to good seafood....that is one thing we do not have at all

Take a big cooler with you and fill it up with seafood & ice as you're leaving the Gulf Shores area. Take some home with you and freeze it!!!!

Lol, Ma. Don't feel jealous of me, Ma. At least you don't have to ride 9 hours with Travis driving. It's like a roller coaster or nascar race. I get in, buckle up and hold on. VROOM! Lol.

Well, it sounds like Travis wants to get there quickly and spend more time on the beaches and MDing for the hidden treasures, hopefully gold and silver! With the hilly roads here in MO, especially in the Ozarks, a person can get car sick really easy and my oldest daugher used to get awfully sick unless she took dramamine before traveling! Have a nice trip and a wonderful vacation...build some sandcastles with Loren and take lots of pics for us home bound persons to drool over! ! Ma Betty
