Who's your favorite brand? This is really interesting, from a statistical perspective. It doesn't surprise me that White's is the most popular but Garrett and Minelab are closing the gap! Who's your favorite detector brand and why?

Bounty Hunter 12 6.00%

Fisher 16 8.00%

Garrett 47 23.50%

Minelab 36 18.00%

Nautilus 0 0%

Teknetics 2 1.00%

Tesoro 19 9.50%

Whites 68 34.00%

Well, considering I have only used one (and found some goodies with it the other day), I will say XTerra 70! Yes, my husband made me hunt.....and I liked it. Don't tell him, okay? :surprised:

Minelab. :)

Of the ones I have, Garrett. I like some of the Teknetics Deltas features, but the particular model not well pleased with. Looking forward to getting a good Minelab.

I have a white bhid and a fisher f75ltd......never had a minelab but they sound interesting.....

Well, since I haven't used anything but Whites that is all I know and I like my 1994 White's Spectrum XLT and it still works when I can go (working) :detecting: with it! May God Bless! Ma Betty

These are in response to favorite brand, I threw in model. Does that mean that the brands and/or models are the best----No! There's no such thing as best, just best for you. As Terry, goes4ever, was saying about his Etrac, he's digging some phenomal depths. Many people wouldn't be willing to dig to those depths. The Etrac is going to be a long time on R.O.I., return on investment. If you're happy with what you have, it can't be all bad. I can't justify those expenses so it will be awhile.

fisher!!!!!!!!!!!

I like my ML but Big Green and Whites may be in my future. Provided I can get away from brand loyalty.

I have been on to many hunts with Mike and compared target readings. His minelab seems to find stuff that mine wont reach.

found a dealer that will blow your socks off on any garrett you may want!!!!:yikes:this guy will beat any price in the nation:clapping:if you are in the market for a new garrett machine drop me an e.mail not a pm to many wrong ears listening:ninja:its too long to explain folks just trust what i say:please:
you garrett fans from what i can gather the 1350;1500;and the 2500 seem to be the best mid range detectors by garrett ---is this right???how about some feed back on this models or any other:please: semperfi61@suddenlink.net

no comparison to any detector I have ever owned or hunted with. I have had 3 hunting partners with whites and they just don't compare

Having previously owned the GTP1350, as well as other detectors by Garrett, I can honestly say it's a good detector but, compared to the Minelab's & White's, it was heavy and lacked the finesse of the Minelab's & White's detectors. The 'Imaging' feature of the Garrett's is nice but I prefer the numerical readout and icons to tell me what's in the ground prior to my digging it up. If the Garrett machines were lighter and had numerical readout, with icons, they would be difficult to beat. The two features I do like about the Garrett's is the fantastic grip of the Garrett units & 'Customer Service'. It's top notch!

I have my sisters IDX Pro (Whites), I think I will burn up a set of batteries for her to get a feel for it. I have heard they disc iron real well. I have also heard good things about the MXT (similar to Xterra but single freq) and TDI (PI that seems to be a very capable, all around machine).

I would like to have a Grand Master Hunter from Garrett also for the 2 box and big coils.

But it is hard to get past the ability of the Etrak and Explorer to see through iron. I think the Soviern GT does great things in iron as well.

Anybody running the Safari?

I am thinking about a Baja Bug so a new MD may be a ways out.

Jeff
