Why buy an F70 when my CZ's work fine???

I've never used any of the newer digi detectors......am I really missing out on anything? I have the opportunity to pick one up for around $300, which I guess is a decent price. It seems like people don't hold on to them like the treasured CZ5's. Can someone who transitioned to digital share their experience? I just get my first smart phone.....so it got me thinking....?

Well, you will most likely take to it pretty fast, you certainly have a developed ear for tones, and thats what you may like about the 70...it has plenty to chose from...Anyway, you wont look at the screen much, just for initial set up, instead of turning a knob, you push a pad...Audio hunting is the way to go with any rig...the Target ID numbers just help your ears associate that sound to the target faster than without it I reckon...

Then I guess its what you like to hunt, where, and how...I had a CZ 20, and it was a great rig that taught me a lot, but the f70 fits my dirt hunting area and style a lot better. Its surgical on sportsfields for jewelry and shallow targets...hunting a plowed bean field for CW relics, you probably would be happier with your CZ that you are used to and comfortable with...not that the 70 wouldnt do a decent job in capable hands, it seems the features, light weight, battery life, ergonomics, coil options, recovery speed, tones, etc make the F70 a flat out speed hunter for depths to 6" easily...300 bucks is something you can always sell the thing for, so if you are committed to attempting to learn it, we will help you all we can!
Mud

I agree with mud. I also would hang on to the cz, if you can. The f-70/f-75's are very sensitive and can be overwhelming to your ears/brain. The cz's run quiet, compared. I use the cz for less trash and the f75 for high iron/trash....for me bases covered. These two units remind me of that joke about the old and young bulls looking down the hill at the cows.

The F 70/75 are really great for hunting in iron and trash, verses the cz's. Less trashy environments the cz is fine as both have near equal depth. I had a cz6a and a cz3d when I gave a regular F 75 a shot. I no longer have a cz in my arsenal. HH jim tn

I kinda wish i still had my CZ5. I just pulled the trigger on an F70. Luckily ihave somemplaces really close by holding some CW stuff. Time will tell. I drive truck and i will be taking it with me on the road to play with. HH guys. B
