Why dig pull tabs ?

steve in so la

Because among them is a gold item sometimes. Today I dug about 70 tabs or more but this 18K ring - with 3 diamonds on each side - popped up. I knew that sooner or later something has to show. It's stamped 750 inside and I tested the diamonds with my tester. And it fits my wife's ring finger just right. I'm guessing the blue stone is a sapphire. I'll have my jeweler look at it.

Here's the coins - all cruddy from the soil. Most things were dug about 4 inches down in the middle of a park. I was there about 3 hours. Dig em all, Steve in so az

That's why I keep digging them, in search for Gold, so Steve I guess the wife has a new ring now!

Congrats! Another nice ring! Wow, your odds are getting much better, the last time you dug a gazillion of them before a ring popped up :) Yep, one never knows unless they dig. HH and hope you find (on your next journey) a nice diamond ring! - Jim

Way to endure the aluminum Steve!

That is a real nice one. I like gold rings with colored stones. Congrats.

Actually there's another reason to be out detecting and digging pull tabs. Doctor's continue to tell arthritis patients to 'exercise' to loosen up the muscles and what better exercise is there, for your hands, than to be digging? And yet another wonderful side effect, from being out doors detecting, is getting natural vitamin D. Of course we must use common sense and use sun screen and cover our bodies with large brimmed hats and long sleeve shirts and pants.

Wish I could Bro Martin, but I can't get down on my knees.....very painful and even if I bent over to dig....I would end up falling on my face and either way...I couldn't get up without lots of help! But I have my memories and lots of sunshine and fun when I was able to go a swingin' and a diggin'! Sure do miss it! Have white stuff on the ground today....not a lot but enough to make it white....'tis the dryer kind with wind blowing so not sticking on the trees! Looks like there is some ice under it when I went to mail box and put my recycling container back in the garage! Knew we had to get some sooner or later and it is colder, too! May God Bless with healing and financial needs! Amen! Ma Betty
