Why do I have to look elsewhere for a................

water machine??? Why doesn't Teknetics build a waterproof beach machine? Sure there is the old and outdated CZ 21 being floged by Fisher!! As good as it is ...still way overdue for an upgrade. Not the odd feature addition or tinkering but........... a real "new" unit!! Why can't Teknetics be the one that does this... there is a big hole in their lineup. Oh well I've made my comments and bored everyone so let's see if there is at least one person out there that might agree with me.Thanks for your participation.

Not really sure why they have not produced such a machine, gut feeling tells me that they must have done the homework in this niche sector and it was just not worth the money that would be required to design and tool up for such a detector as the return on investment would not be massive. The market for waterproof machines either beach or fresh water is about limited and also many machines all ready exist so that is the main reason i would have thought.

Of course this is just my personal opinion, but the land use market is a much bigger one than say waterproof machines,so they would spend most of the R&D funds and engineers time designing new machines as that is the life blood of any company.

Well then how about making their units waterproof ..like the Garrett AT PRO or GOLD? I'd like a Teknetics version of one of those...I'm confident that they could do better.

I am not sure of the reason why, prehaps it would be best to ask First Texas and they may give you some indication why,but it would be odds on favourite that they wont give a straight reply back why they have not made such a machine, asking the company or prehaps suggest to them that it could be a good move for them and the logic behind them producing such a machine.

But if one takes a wider look at what is out on today in the VLF arena and you will find all the top makers have all ready have these types of machines, some multi freq and some single freq ones,of course only the multi freq machines tend to work better in the wet sand enviroment, some single freq machines can be made to work but they tend not to be 100% happy but the makers wont tell you that.

So to produce a decent beach machine the ideal scenario is using multi freq and that is a major problem as they is the main requirment of beach machines or of course Pulse technology,Garrett may make the AT range but because its just a single freq they excel in fresh water but some ownere say they will work 100% on wet sand the jury is still out on my verdict on that one.You usually have to drop all the setting down on a single freq machine which defeats the whole object of the exercise surely ??

Best suggest would be get in contact with First Texas and suggest it to them, good luck and keep us updated on the reply they give.

Do not know for sure when Teknetics is coming out with a waterproof machine I hope this year. Was told would use T2 electronics.
Maybe with the new engineer on staff, new detectors may be coming soon. I think the machine will be water proof to 10 feet.
As a dealer heard this over 2 months ago. Will have one when they come out, hope it's this Spring.

Valid question...

Something between a CZ21 and a land unit...perfect niche to come out with a 'Pro Killer'...they need to up the ante and have it good for 20'...even though 15' is fine..I would bet not many of us dive to 250' depths, but a lot of us wade, snorkel, shallow dive, hunt in the rain, etc......I'm thinking of sawing the fins off the 11"dd and waterproofing my F rig, but would prefer a dedicated mfg to do it...Garrett did with the Pro series and has made a bloody fortune..and they work, I got one, could not argue with the finds...

I'd still like a waterproof F or Tek rig with more tones etc....perhaps such a thing would cannibalize all other Tek/Fmodel sales? I know Companies consider and fear that issue...

I agree land machines are more popular. On the other hand it doesn't make much sense to have have 5 or 6 machines that do the same thing at different price points. Why put all your eggs in one basket. To think there wouldn't be a niche in the market look at how popular the AT Pro and CTX are. I'm sure it is more to do with warranty work than anything else. It has to be a nightmare dealing with customers and trying to determine what caused a machine to leak. The customer will want everything covered under warranty even if they damaged the detector being negligent. If they do come out with an all purpose machine great. If not there are still very capable detectors on the market that do.
