Why do you have to login for the mapping features in Xchange2?

Hey Randy,
Why do you have to login to use the mapping features in Xchange2?

Is the information from your CTX still stored on your local computer or is stored in the cloud with minelab or something.

Just curious, not a big fan of big brother like programs
 
My guess would be for updates. I'll see if I can find out, and get back to you.

Like you, I'm not a fan of "you know who". See, I don't even want to say the name for fear of black helicopters circling my house. Wait...... I hear something outside......
 
That would be great if you find out just to make sure.

I would think that your info would not be shared or stored online because if it was and then your account was hacked. They could see all of your waypoints and stuff. Not good.
