I decided to give one of the Nautilus machines a go, and contacted Kellyco by eMail to get their best price on a DMC-IIb w/10 inch coil "without" all of their usual mickey-mouse add-ons in the "freebies" package.
This morning I get a return e-mail stating that the price "without accessories (freebies)" is ONLY $629.95
Well, I found this a little strange, considering their internet price is $549.95 "WITH" all the freebies ! They want $80 MORE for less equipment ?
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, and went back into their internet page and looked at the price on the DMC-IIba, thinking maybe they quoted me on the wrong machine. If I used the IIba price, they were allowing me a whopping $15 off for all of that great freebie stuff. WOW!
When I added up their stated "VALUE" of all those freebies, they totaled $294.80.......and that wasn't including those swell high performance headphones that they give away with every detector.
Let's see, they either want $80 extra for all the stuff I "don't" get, or they are allowing me $15 for their $294.80+ "value" in freebies that are basicly useless junk.
Either way you look at it, these people have some pretty dubious business practices going on. You have to applaud companies like Tesoro for not allowing their company or machines to be represented by such misrepresentation. But what can you expect from a company that seriously markets "long range locators" and such nonsense? <img src="/metal/html/angry.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":mad">
Just my opinion of course.
