Why XP???

I have two separate setups using my Deus 2, one using the remote set up with the 11 inch coil and one set up with the puck using the 13 inch coil. The remote with 11 inch coil is my go to detector, but today I went with the puck with 13 inch coil. I am on the beach at 430am and found out that the puck has no backlight to light up the display. I know I could just use a flashlight or headlight but for a $1600 detector is that asking too much. I guess to much of a power drain on the puck would be my guess, anybody know why?

Yep it’s a bummer but where there is will there is a way. If I am going out late in the evening I find myself in the dark often. I have this little usb rechargeable neck light booklight made for camping etc. that I got cheap on fleabay that I take along. It really saves the day ( in case of night hunts).

Seriously.

I get that you gotta pay for the R&D, but come on.

You can get a burner phone from a gas station that's full color touch, internet capable, with receiver and speaker for less than $40 at a gas station.

This isn't exclusive to XP though. It's an industry wide problem I have.

Again, I get the pay to play aspect of research and development, but the interface of these very and I stress, VERY expensive machines is not much more than a $20 Casio wrist watch.

Maybe they should make the Puck the size of a cell phone, then they could add a light. :)
