Hello,
As you guy's know back a page or two.. I was asking about the MXT for the wife and trying to compare it in to my DFX and was even thinking about a M6.
As you know from my update back then we did get her the MXT 300.. Had it about a week now and took it out for the first time Yesterday! We took it over to a fair grounds. This place is well detected by many people after they pull up each year so pic-kin's are slim.. Trash was unreal, the place was littered with all types of aluminum pull tabs... I had picked up a dual headphone jack so I could hook in and see how she was dealing with the ground and trash. I never used it.. I set the MXT on it's preset and handed off to the wife and off she went.. We got nailed with flying blood sucking creatures of many types.. I knew they were around me-us but that's it when my wife and I hooked up again after a hour or so and she took one look at me I looked like I had a go in with a barbed wire fence!! Next time we'll use the bug spray!! Any way the wife was happy her first coin was a quarter she let out a yell I knew that it was a good thing.. All and all she found two quarters some pennies ans a few nickels.. Not bad for the first time out! I had found about the same with a few dimes in my mix and under a big old oak tree I got a good hit +14 with good tone I was running the stock Hi trash program on my DFX but there it was a gold ring 4 1/2" down. It's a nice ring only 10k but the center stone is a sapphire 1/4 to 3/8k with a small diamond on each side and there all set inside of a hart shaped setting. Yes it fit's my wife perfect too!! How cool.. I post a photo here as soon as we take one! One thing I did notice with her MXT was that in some places I was able to run the gain wide open..I didn't know that would be possible.. With the MXT set to the presets in the coin/jewelry program I was able to over load it with a nickle on top of the ground.. It looks to me that the MXT runs much hotter on the factory preset then the DFX does on any of the factory programs.. I feel that Whites should have set the factory programs at pre amp 3.. This would have been a much better starting point for the DFX IMO.. I didn't really use the MXT for myself yet but I think I'm going to really like it too! Thanks for reading! George & Penny
