Will a CTX ID a Diamond Tennis Bracelet?

I've been asked to locate a 18k Diamond Tennis Bracelet and the closest thing my my wife has is a dainty 10k Black Hills Gold bracelet that the stock coil does not see in 1 1/2" of grass.

It looks like tennis bracelets have quite a bit of gold in them compared to my wife's bracelet but I'd like to go into it with knowing more.

I have a Tesoro Tiger Shark and a Nokta Fors CoRe that will sound off on the bracelet but the stock coil on the CTX provides more coverage.

Probably use the Nokta but curious if folks have found or tested a tennis bracelet.

Any of those detectors should work just fine on 18k.
I would probably lean toward the Nokta as well...just because of the high frequency. (more gold sensitive)

The two big things to keep in mind are:
1. Of course, don't discriminate it out. Since you use a TTS, you already know Gold tends to hide in the foil ranges.

2. Time is of the essence...if it's not too late already. Some jewelry is hard to spot when it's dropped. Diamond tennis bracelets tend to sparkle in the sun, and attract the eye.
Unless you're lucky enough for it to have been dropped in sand, or on private property, it's quite possible to have been spotted already.

Good Luck, I hope you find it!

It's on private property but they have a landscaping crew take care of their lawn and it's been about 2 months since she dropped it.

Thanks for the reply.

The karat has less to do with the reading than the size of the links. MOST detectors have serious trouble with chains or linked bracelets because the individual links are too small to be seen. My wifes 14K bracelet is invisible to everything, including the much exalted tesoros and it's nor a tiny bracelet either. Most of the time the detectors are seeing a pendent or the clasp which is often larger than the links.

No bracelet but I enjoyed the search. Grass was very thin and dry so I'm thinking if it was dropped it may have been a visual find for someone?

or chopped / picked up by the mowers....bagged and hauled out.

Too bad you didn't find it. (Glad you enjoyed the hunt, though.)

One other thing I've seen...far too many times (most, in fact) the person who lost the item is WAY off, as to where they think they lost it.

Most of the time I've found items, it's been nowhere near where it's claimed to have been lost.

Which I guess makes perfect sense...if everyone knew exactly where they lost an item, it wouldn't actually be lost...they'd just go pick it up. ;)
