will a excalibur 2 make noise if the batteries are low

i was on the beach, all of a sudden the machine sang out a long singal like a target, nothing there, 15 seconds later it did it again, 15 seconds later again. does this say low batery or what. i think i read it somewhere.

yes that is the death shreek of the excal battery low sigh ...u will get abiyt 30 min more but u will not enjoy them

i figured that was what it was, i have never let my batteries get that low, thanks for the replies, did see a couple others at new symrna yesterday
picked up one ticket right in the driving lanes, go figure. it has no mark, but was sized and welded back. im thinking white gold. it weighs 21g.
