took the batteries out of the detectors and cleaned them up. Time to store them. Question for you guys with the Minelabs and the AA battery pack....do you guys remove the batteries from it even if it isn't in the detector? Do you remove the Nimh pack from the detector for the winter or doesn't it matter?

I want to be able to use the detector come spring...not clean battery corrosion off terminals, sending the unit in for repairs, etc, come spring. Yeah, Come Spring...Come Spring. Already tired of winter LOL.

Please pray I get a job soon...I'm already steer crazy and the income sure wouldn't hurt. Thanks guys (and gals).

Don't send it down here! Actually I like it when we get enough to plow, but way too often we get just enough not to! :( I always say either freeze the ground and bring it on, or let's not have any at all! :)
Praying for your job situation!

and too cold to cut through it and swing the water detector now.

Take out the battery pack and take the batteries out of the pack. (just in case)

Supposed to have some snow on sunday but no accumulation. Think I'll go hunting in the woods tomorrow morning. At 1pm, it's off to a Christmas concert rehearsal at church... :)

praying the Christmas rehearsal and the actual Christmas program goes well for His glory.

handheld pinpointer when storing for the winter. Just the Minelab is different for me. Never had a detector with rechargeable battery pack so didn't know if that posed a problem leaving it in or not. And wasn't sure about the AA pack either so figured I'd better ask.

Wonder what keeps the settings in the Minelab 'brain' if the batteries are removed for a few months? Wonder if there is a back up 'button' battery inside to maintain its 'smarts' or if I start from scratch next detecting season.

Or are the settings 'chiselled in stone' like the 10 Commandments into some digital rock????

Sure hate to lose all my settings.

Thanks Greg and Joe and others for your input.
