range the last couple of weeks we have give up on the relic hunting in the woods and are hitting the swimming holes. Heat and skeeters will not let you hunt more than an hour or so in the woods but you can stand in the water all day. Here is some of the stuff I have found the last 3 days. This picture does not include all the mini balls, pistol bullets and hammered out pistol balls that were made into fishing sinkers or the jewelry. My hunting parnter, SoArk has found 10 rings since we started hitting the river about 3 weeks ago. Day before yesterday one of my first signals was an 1854 seated dime. With a Yankee CW camp on the high bank side of the river I have decided they probably threw and lost stuff in the river. I have never found a buckle or box plate but I can smell one in the deeper water and that is where I am headed about 10am, got guns to work on first...d2
