With some friends at the old summer camp again

Got back out for our second outing at the Old Summer Camp an 8 hour hunt. Was detecting with forum member "jabbo" and a non-forum member, that I hunt regularly with. I did a lot of research before getting back to this site. Finding where old cabins use to be and where old trees were but are not there anymore. Also finding an old ball field that cant be seen today. I started out down by where the watering hole was but now is a pool. I started my search where I knew a tree happened to be and found my first Silver ring. Then I headed up towards where I wanted to concentrate on, the old ball field. Worked my way up went through the parking lot and got a small coin spill of a Rosie and Merc. Well now I arrived at the ball field and it was ON!!!!!! Pictures will tell all!!!!

Walked away with:
4 Washingtons
12 Mercs
8 Rosies
55 Wheaties
2 Silver rings
1 Gold ring
1 14K Gold filled watch

Happy Holidays!!!

HH,Rocco

Rocco, your day was unbelievable. The old ball field you found was smokin hot. Bob found a hot spot too, but not like yours. I picked up 3 silver Rosies, a no date Standing Lib quarter and a silver Washington, and some wheaties, I didn't find any hot spot. The 1972 yellow gold HS class ring you found is a beauty. Thanks for bringing me to that place. HH, Jabbo

Thanks Dave, I enjoy hunting with good people. It's nice to share areas with friends. I am jealous of your Standing Liberty, even with no date they are fun to dig!! We need to get out really soon again!!!

Bob said the old farm shows on a 1878 map. Farm was sold in 1945 and became a summer camp. The 1931 photos shows mostly flat farm land, but property was landscaped after was sold. Now is no longer flat, but terraced. The 1800's coins were plowed under, maybe all are too deep. No Indian Head pennies were found.

:surprised:

Great haul!!

Thanks Guys!!! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
