Wobble in shaft

Hey guys I have had Etrac just about a year and I noticed after two months the lower shaft and upper shaft have a slight wobble. Its not where it connects to the control box that's solid but in middle where you adjust length. Currently I have electric tape on end of lower shaft and slid it into upper and that solved it but I wonder is this covered under my warranty? If so maybe I should call Kelly co and take care of it before it becomes worse.

There's a little plastic shim (at least on my detector's upper shaft) which the locking lever presses against to lock both shafts togather.
See if its still there or if it moved. Other than that you'd have to post a clear pic of whats going on with the locking mechanism.

I've got multiple upper and lower shafts for all my coils and never had this issue.

Or send minelab you're shaft they will repair it. Hope this helps HH c t. Other remedy till part arrives. Have camlock face up rather than down also if anyone is interested in listed my fbs800 coil. New/like new in the classifieds

The newer camlock has a tiny piece of aluminum that covers the red plastic nipple that the camera closer hinge. Presses on. In the long run its a 30 second fix if you get the parts from minelab. Contact repair I'm sure it's a free part or I would imagine it's free if you have warranty. Also if you're out of warranty I'm sure it's not too costly. It's an easy procedure to replace a camlock. Over time the carbon fiber rod will wear!!! That's costly. Honestly the new camlock works my Buddy has replaced his last season and he hunts 4-6 days a week yup were old fogies with nothing but time but being retired and on fixed incomes camlock vs bigger issues if left alone to wear. Just my thoughts. HH to all C t

Minelab makes incredible. Machines but as with any innovative. Concept there will be flaws that need workingout. Leest we turn the clock back to 2000 and the upper camlock issues. Poor Dicki Shultz. Having no idea how to respond to the overwhelming. Amt of calls unitll corporate worked it out. 15yrs later an improved camlock? Yup the new camlock is better can it be workout in the three yrs you're covers. Yes but heck not likely the lower rod will fall out coil attached to rod. Coiled cord. It won't fall out but yes it is annoying to have a creaking floppy lower stem. I'm a proud user of many brands of detectors even some euro block units But I'm back to the ETRAC. Once again!!!!!!!! I wish all a great 2015 hunting season and it's good to be back to the Etrac! HH c t
