Not many targets this morning, but did manage 2 goodies. The first good target was the 14k Italy chain. Swinging along I got a bouncy 26-35 reading on the LTD and knowing it wasn't deep I moved a few leaves with my foot and there that 20 grams beauty was. Had to be a pretty recent loss just laying a few feet off of a trail. About mid way through my hunt got a nice high tone with a reading in the upper 70's. Turned over a scoop of dirt, checked the pile and it was in the dirt. Probed with the Pro pin pointer and located a 1905 Barber dime. The lady is the first Barber from the woods since last winter if I recall correctly. Great morning to be in the woods. F 75 LTD with 11" dd coil. HH jim tn

I still have 11 of those plates left Mud and Elton, and if you think they are lucky, they are for sale. At a very reasonable price. Frank, funny you mention the horse shoe. You see, it actually is where the sun don't shine. One of the deepest targets I have ever dug with the LTD, at least a foot, was a badly corroded shoe I dug a couple of mornings ago. Rather then carry it through the woods, I just use a 2 pouch apron, I laid it down behind a big oak along one of the trails and covered it with some leaves intending to pick it up on my way back to my SUV. Yep, I got on another trail and forgot about it until you just mentioned horse shoes. Of course, there are numerous trails in these woods and a couple more then one oak trees. Those of you that have an old park with some woods around them, give them a good shot. They can be pretty amazing from time to time. Thanks again for the comments. HH jim tn
