..I called that beach/campground this morning;and finalized the arrangements for detecting there this Saturday morning;looking for my fellow church members' class ring...Got ahold of another woman;and explained to her what I had told the other lady last week-she said "SURE!!!Come on out anytime!!":thumbup:I asked her what time they opened;and she said usually about 9;00am-"BUT YOU CAN COME AT SUNUP IF YOU WANT!!"...I told her that I will be out there about 6 or 7am;want to be done before the crowds get there-dont want to disrupt anybody's recreation-I am also going to take an x-tra bag for the trash I find;and clean her up in there-they charge $2.00 for the use of the beach.Im gonna hang around till they open;and give them their $2.00 for the privilege of being allowed to hunt there.I am also going to show them the trash I picked up out of the water;maybe I can make arrangements with them to come in 2-3 times a year to clean up the trash left in the water-AND THE OTHER STUFF:thumbup:..That lady has a list of lost items-I oughta make a BIG splash if I find something lost;and return it-she said"Maybe the ring you are going to look for is on the list of lost items we have here"...Being that this ring was lost there in 1950,if it WAS on a list of lost items;and they still had that list-CAN YOU IMAGINE how long that list would be by now???:clapping::detecting::fisher::blink::beers::wave::razz:;)

find some of the lost items. Great to see how they are so welcoming to you! Go get em Steve! :)

reference the Swimmer's Itch....what I didn't do that might make a difference in others is I didn't apply sunscreen to my legs. I did to my arms. My right arm was in the water alot and my hands were in wt gloves...neither have any itching. Maybe the sunscreen sealed the pours of my arms and hands and the Swimmer's Itch did not affect them. My legs were not 'protected' and that is what is driving me nuts...my legs.

Just be on the safe side...put sunscreen all over yours legs and other parts you might get wet so if it does protect you will be covered in all the areas. Otherwise, ya might look and feel stupid but those waders sure are good protection.

Good luck on finding those lost items.

I guess I should put some on my arms and legs this coming Saturday-That beach Im hunting is very popular-Packed most all summer-Has been since it opened in the early 1900's-Im gonna ask them how long it has been a public beach.I bet the chance of gettin Swimmer's Itch there is very easy-Probably a common occurrence;as busy as it is...:(

if you see water fowl in the area that is one of the things that lead up to the cause of Swimmer's Itch.

Ducks and geese may be pretty but e coli and other nasty stuff is attributed to them.
