Mining tycoon Gina Rinehart is the head of private mining giant Hancock Prospecting and is currently Australia's richest person as well as the world's richest woman.

She is the heir(inherited in a will) to father Lang Hancock's mining fortune and business interests and became Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting following his death in March 1992.

Federal crossbencher Bob Katter says Ms. Rinehart's advice left out the bit about "daddy being a major cattle station owner and the biggest mining magnate in Australia".
