1917 Wheat Cent .... Sensitivity 72..Bp mode, 3H tones, Notch 1, Disc. 15, ..Ground Damp - GB at 76
F75LTD nailed this Wheat at a measured 11"........... I used the FX-1 probe after 8" to key in on the target.
I removed about an inch at a time looking for the Signal............ each time checking with the probe for target. At measured 11" I found the 17 Wheat just about flat in the ground.
I also scrapped the sides of hole as I went down making a grove straight down so I could get an accurate measure from grass roots level down to the target.
De mode was checked when I got the jumpy 81/83/84 meter reading in BP mode. DE mode would not detect the target till sens raised to 88..then it was iffy. at 90 it sounded off, but meter reading was low 55/56.At above 90 it was so chattery I could not really tell what I had in ground. Just a beep beep and numbers everywhere ...
In my opinion this is a very respectable depth to hit a Wheat Cent. I hope soon I have a good place with Silver targets so I can see how deep a Dime, or what ever will hit at.. I will say this F75LTD may be a little chattery, ( Is that a word) but the depth abilities it has is a good trade off for a little noise..I have no doubt if I had dug some of the little chattery hits it would have been some type of metal.. I also noticed the depth meter in Pinpoint is not exactly accurate. It read 14 and was very faint.. actual was as stated 11"..
Again no biggie but I just wanted to share the finds depth......... Wow !!
Special Note: I had to slow my swing speed down to get targets in the area I was hunting Next to a river. Grass was at least 4" high. Regular if there is such a thing swing speed caused a lot more chatter as I forced my swing down some. The machine settled down to just a small amount of chatter in the BP mode.. My regular swing speed is habits I picked up using Whites detectors for many years.. SO you former Whites owners know what I mean about fast swing..
