I played hookey from work and went hunting for a while this afternoon at an old park's ball field I have hunted for years but this time I had the WOT!
I wasn't finding anything old (but did dig a lot of DEEP signals that turned out to be trash) so I headed back towards the truck and on the way got this really strange signal that bounced all over the top of the screen and screamed like a banshee!
I pulled a nice coffee can size plug and stuck the X1 in. It screamed and I looked at the display and it was locked on quarter . I pulled out some more dirt and saw the rim of a silver coin! It was on edge straight up and down!
This is the first coin I can remember finding that was 100% vertical. At first I thought it was a half because it looked thick! I was going to get a picture of it but when I got to the truck my camera wasn't there unfortunately. I measured it with the knife and checked with the tape measure when I got home. Turned out to be 6" from the top of the rim to the grass line!
I found the other coins with the WOT on Sunday. The barber dime was deep and gave Guy an iffy signal with his 10.5 stock coil. With the WOT it was a solid definite digger. The others were all deep too. I had hunted the same spot hard last year and found a lot of silver coins but obviously missed a few!
