A lot is mentioned about the depth, but how is the seperation with this coil?

The "Wonderful Orange Thing" in my experience is just fine for short cut grass in parks, etc. I can hear through it just fine and do the "Minelab jiggle" to isolate and pin point the target in moderate trash. You can cover more ground with it providing the grass, brush, etc. is very short. I experience just a shade more depth than the standard 10.5 inch coil. But try to shove a basketball hoop in the tangle and judge the results for yourself. The eliptical coil can make it "possible" to detect where a basketball hoop will not suffice. In my neck of the woods I seldom find any good stuff deeper than 8 -9 inches. My standard 10.5 inch coil will do that with moisture in the ground. Select the right coil for the job. Just my experience. Happy Hunting...
