I actually seen it on the news. The first Superman comic book just sold for one million dollars!

Funny how some people would pay big prices for things that others wouldn't give two cents for. I know I have some things that are highly sought after by collectors and would bring a big price if sold. And I have been known to pay more than I should have for things I like and/or collect. Those things are important to ME, but to someone else, they'd just be trash. The comic book? I'd be one of those who wouldn't give two cents for it, but it was evidently (almost) priceless to the person who bought it. Like the old saying goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Like Tim always says, "You can tell people all day long that you have this or that, and that it's worth X amount of money... but until someone is willing to pay you that X amount, it really ain't worth nothin."

That's a contract! I'm gonna hold ya to it!:bouncy:

Could of not said it better myself Lisa....

would you believe I have a Cubs glass from the 1970's that has the blue and white logo before they added the red.. wonder what it's worth?

Now, what a blessing that would be for me or other members who are deep in debt needing money to pay them off, but then again would I still depend on Jesus to help me meet my needs, if I or anyone here would have any of the comic books worth lots of money! I don't desire to be rich but have enough money to pay what I owe and to help my children and others for living comfortably the rest of our days! But leaning on and trusting in Jesus is our joy through His comforting strength to endure and continue on day by day and giving God the glory for all that He's done and will do in our lives! Amen! Ma Betty

That Reminds Me of Returning Home, From The Army, To Find That My Mother Had Cleaned Out My Room and Thrown Out My Entire Collection Of Baseball Cards, Comic Books, and Dad Gave My 8' x 12' Home Made Train Set Away. I Was Devastated! Mom Figured It Was Just A Bunch Of Kid Stuff Anyway & Tossed It. Let Me See Now...There Was Micky and Babe and...Well You Get The Picture. If I Still Had That Collection Today, I Could Metal Detect On Any Beach In The World Without Worrying About Expense. Oh Well...

Sorry, Marty, about all your collectibles being thrown out or given away....that had to be a heart-breaker for you just returning from the army....but MOM's are like that always cleaning and getting rid of the clutter...by their thinking! I have only learned how valuable a lot of things are as I become older and have gotten rid of a lot of stuff that probably would be collectible now! That is how people going to garage and yard sales find something valuable and make money or lots of it....even trash bin pickers! Sometimes you get lucky...but most of the time you don't! I never hunted trash bins but liked to attend garage and yard sales! Don't know if anything I've bought and kept is valuable or not! Cannot afford an appraiser at this time...but will try to have my collectibles appraised before selling them, if I don't pass away first and, if I do, then my kids will have the problems with all my JUNKY STUFF! May God Bless! Ma Betty
