Wow! That Old Ring I Pulled Out Of The River Checked Out As A Genuine Ruby. Rings Found Covered The Cost Of A New Vortex!

Good news....that copper ring I found in the flour gold producing river with a metal detector a few weeks back was identified as a real ruby stone, perhaps worth a premium due to it's size and carat wt. It's estimated to be around 100+ years old. So out of the 25 rings I got this year, two have a decent value to them. The other was a gold ring, also found in the same river. Looks like I paid for the value of my new metal detector the Garrett Vortex.
😁

Congrats. Thats a cool find!!

Don't sell yourself short. Detectorist experience counts too.

Nice find on that Ruby. I suspect ultimate value has more to do with finding the right person with a lot of desire to own a piece like that than it does with just a size, and clarity / color formula valuation.
You have a good point as to declaring it's value. And of course, experience has a good influence on finding good items.
