Congrats to all who made good finds in 2015 and continued good luck to you in 2016. These pictures are from my finds in 2015 and the picture with the toy car and pocketknife are finds from the start of 2016. I started 2015 with a new to me Fisher CZ7a Pro which I purchased used on ebay. I used it until mid April when I purchased a F70 with the 11' dd coil, used, again from ebay. I ended the year with $358 in clad and the gold and silver you see in the pictures. I like both the CZ7a Pro and the F70, they are both very good on nickels. Since the F70 is lighter and goes longer on batteries, that is the one I used the most.

The 1953 rosie I found yesterday at an athletic field that I have searched several times before. It is my first silver coin for 2016 but hopefully not my last. I found two silver rings on the beach a couple of weeks ago, so three silver so far for 2016. Yesterday I dug a lot of pull tabs and foil, hoping to find that gold ring or pendant. It wasn't to be that day, so I was very glad to salvage the hunt with the '53 rosie. I think I learned a little lesson digging that silver dime. I got a small signal, numbers flashing were 76 or 78, which could be a bottlecap but I have also dug silver dimes when seeing that number also. But, I couldn't get the F70 to pinpoint, so I did the manual pinpoint, not a big deal to me I'm used to doing that from using a 1280X Aquanaut for years on land. Up came the '53 rosie, it was in one scoop that I brought up, so I don't know for sure how far down it was, I'm guessing around 5 ". So I know now that if I get a signal that I want to dig but can't get a pinpoint from the machine, go ahead and dig anyway, you never know.

Found a little clad to go with the rosie, also a 1930 wheat. Wasn't finding much because I had already searched the area before. I was mostly trying to clear out most of the trash so I could hear deeper stuff, and as said before trying to find the gold by digging more mid tones.

Did a short hunt today before work, found a titanium ring that actually fits me. But it is black and I don't wear much jewelry anyway, and I have a silver colored wedding band on my left hand already, so it will go in with the other rings. Maybe try and sell it at a yard sale.

I need to start tweaking the F70 to find deeper stuff. Mostly I have been using the factory settings except lower disc around 4, -3 thresh, 60 sens, I like the 3 H tones so far, and usually notch out iron. Thanks to Revier and the WV boys for tips on tweaking the F70. I will play around with that more this year trying to find the deeper stuff and I also picked up the small 5" coil over the winter to try in some trashy spots.

Larbear, looks like 2015 was a good year for you and a nice start for 2016. Anytime I get a 76 to 78 id on the screen I'm digging, that's to good to pass up especially if those #s are fairly steady, nice Rosie. If there's one thing I learned in 2015 working with my f5 is you want to pay close attention to those " faint" signals with high ID #s because those signals are the deep coins and now days that's were most of the silver is. I've slowed my swing speed down and any slight signal is what I'm looking for. Real nice write up, thanks for sharing your experiences.
