WTB: Rechargable Battery Pack for Whites Xlt

Let me know your price and payment options Thanks!! I'd prefer new but a nice used one will do.

Hey Junior fan!!

I have two that came with the XLT I just sold. Downside is, I did not get a charger with the XLT when I bought it used, so I cannot test or warranty them. That is the reason I pulled them from the XLT sale. I can tell you one looks old and the other looks current judging by the nice new label. The newer one did power up the detector so I could test it before I bought the detector from an estate sale several months ago. True story - the widow of the original owner told me that her husband bought the detector to use on the beach. They live in Oceanside California (north of San Diego) just a block from the beach. He took it out 2 times and said walking in the sand was too hard for him so he put the XLT away in the closet and forgot about it. She said out of the blue he up and bought a new battery for it, but passed away before he took the machine out on the beach with the new battery. Now she made no mention of any time frames and I didn't want to pry considering she just lost her husband and was selling his stuff. I noticed after I got home there was no charger and I doubt she could have identified it anyway if I contacted her to try and find it.

If my V3i charger would charge these batteries I would test them out on my V3i, but the XLT batteries are designed to plug into a cord to charge and the V3i uses a charging base that is quite different than the XLT charger. I did look into a new XLT charger after I bought the XLT, but $49.95 is really insane for a simple AC adapter with a regulator IC built-in. I really love Whites gear as you already know from our prior conversations, but that is a little steep considering what it really is and the OEM cost. I have been working in technology most of my life so I know the actual cost of this stuff and as a result I do get a little insulted by some the retail prices I see. And I am honest about my outrage over the markup. Back when I ran an IT organization my Cisco rep hated his visits I have no doubt. Because every time he visited I would reach in a drawer and pull out a simple power cord and drop it on my desk. Mind you this is a basic computer and technology gear power cord, and you probably have several right now in your home. I then would grin and say, "please explain to me what makes THAT basic cord worth $24.95 from your company when all other IT vendors sell them for between $2 and $12. There is no difference between the cords except for your logo and outrageous markup! You justify that, and I will buy more Cisco gear for this organization, if not, you need to moderate your pricing or I can find other vendors to supply our network needs." We got a substantial off the top discount on ALL of our Cisco gear after several of these intense visits where the power cord did all the talking!!

I need to look into what these things are worth, but I am open to offers. PM me.
