WTB Sand Scoop

I will be spending a week on the beach in North Carolina in early April so need a sand scoop. I imagine I'll be mostly hunting the wet sand along the surfline but not in the water itself. Since this is only a week long hunt, I don't need the best money can buy, just need something serviceable. So looking for a recommendation and to purchase. Thanks!

I occasionally get to the beach for a hunt.
Like you did not feel the need for an expensive scope so I just bought a plastic scope for around $9 bucks.
With the plastic scoop you can get a scoop of sand and swipe it over the coil, if your object is not there dump and get another until it sounds off and then sift the sand out and find your treasure.
It worked great for me .
I can see if you did it all the time then get a good one , just for a week or so the cheap plastic ones work well

In the area of the beach where you will find the best items the plastic sand scoop will be worthless. That area is where the shell/sand mix is packed so tight that it makes it difficult to dig even with a quality stainless steel scoop.

Plastic scoops will work on the dry sand and on the soft wet sand but not where the best targets reside

The scoop I have FS is 9.5 inches from side to side 5 inches tall and 11 inches from front to back. The handle is a small wheel barrel handle that is 50 inch or you can cut to size. What ever length you like. It works great in wet hard packed sand and also shells. I have two and only need one that is why I was selling.

For just a short stay on the beach I still say plastic is ok , I dug in the surf, wet sand and dry.
Sure it’s not as good as a a $150 digger but it works .
$10 or $150 for a couple days in the sand.

Thanks for the advice. That sounds like the right thing to do. Mods, you can close this thread now.

Just use a garden shovel and pinpointer like hunt any park.
