WW2 Hat badge

Goldstrike

Well-known member
Here's an interesting hat badge (Royal Army Pay Corp) that I detected in an old park in England :ukflag:earlier this year. Not rare or valuable but interesting nevertheless!
According to the amount of old coins and relics I dug, I get that feeling and would venture to say it may never have been metal detected :clapping:and after doing some homework, I discovered this was a detention camp for prisoners of war....thus the hat badge!
I also dug a nice gold ring, did the gold dance:wiggle: but unfortunately, I got rained out so often, I only had a limited amount of time to MD and had to fly back: ......BUT I'LL BE GOING BACK REAL SOON!!!:detecting:

Goldstrike,

I wish I could live in England and detect these great treasures such as yours.
Excellent find.

Hi Reltolbert
Thanks for your kind feedback.
I am originally from England but emigrated to the States in the 1970's (I live in California now) and get back at least 2x a year. I only wish I had started MDing when I lived there! My brother is lining up a site for us to MD where there was a Roman encampment next time I come so I'm looking forward to doing that!

Great find! Doesn't look like you dinged it either, sweet. Look forward to more pix from your "Adventures from across the pond".
