X TERRA 50 depth question.

For anybody who uses the 50 or used one in the past. What would you say is about the maximum depth of any of your finds that I can expect to get with mine. I have good soil to detect in. Thanks

This depends on the soil, trash content, the size of the target and the coil your going to use ...... 0 - 14 inches (+/- 5 inches).

The soil is light mineralization, very little trash, target size will be coin sizes and I'll be using the 9" concentric coil.

I would expect somewhere in the 8-10" range.

I'd say 0 - 12" range based on that. The deeper the object, the harder it is to detect it with any metal detector (coil dependent).

Thanks folks. I really needed to know what to expect.

size matters .... a lot depends on how big the coin is, pennies around 6" give or take a little, quarters and half dollars 8-9" and that is with good conditions, dry hard soil with some trash less, good damp loose ground with no trash maybe a little more

Thank you for the advice. I'll keep that on the front burner. HH
