x terra 70 operators manual and dvd HELP!

Hi Guys, i'm a newbie...living in the UK, only 1 month into MD had an ace 150 decided i loved this hobby and so ive just bought an xterra 70 on ebay really excited for it to arrive in a few days, HOWEVER it doesnt come with an INSTRUCTION BOOK or DVD has anyone got any i could buy ? as straight from an ace 150 to a terra i,m gona struggle, any idea's ?

ps its got a 10 inch DD coil and also wondered if this is a good allround one to use, i intend to work Farmland mostly ploughed but also has some pasture, and will go to beach dry and wet, i know ive a lot to learn, but love this game and very willing...

Look at the FAQ FAQ at the top of this forum. There is a lot of good info there. I'm also looking for a factory manual so I can't help you there.
You can download a copy of the manual from off of the internet though.
Expect a learning curve. Especially going to a DD coil from a concentric. Good luck and HH.

PS- I find it ironic that I'm communicating with someone from the UK on July 4th, America's Independence Day. Is it just a normal business as usual day over there??

I called minelab once and they sent me a video , they will probably send you a manual too.

The Internet is probably your best bet for getting a manual printed out. However, I still have my training DVD. PM me your full name and complete address and I'll just send it to you.

Hey Buddy, thats amazing thank you so much, you are a top guy, where are you living in the uk? if you have a paypal account i can make a payment to cover the postage for you and a a bit for the dvd i dont want you being out of pocket.

also any advice on what coil i should get next if i have the 10 " DD at the moment, ive access to 100 acres of farmers land never been detected to the best of his knowledge and the farmer is 70 yrs old, also had an old Victorian dump site in one of his field..

Peter, Welcome to the X-TERRA forum. Coil choice depends on many factors. If you're looking for the old hammered coins in highly mineralized soils, the higher frequency DD coils will provide the best results. If the 10.5 inch DD you have is the higher 18.75 frequency, it should do well. If it is the medium frequency, you'll do OK but might consider the 6-inch DD at 18.75 for your next choice. It will take more time to cover that 100 acres. But the separation is excellent. HH Randy

Hey Buddy, thanks for the great info... i'm blown away at how helpful everyone is i feel part of a fraternity now wehey.. its only took me 47 years to find a hobby i really like, you know when you cant wait to get back out their...marvelous..

i,m not sure if the DD 10 inch is higher or lower until it arrives tomorrow.... so i,m hoping its the higer 18... where is the best place to get a 6 inch DD 18 rom ( hey i sound like a pro..cant see any used ones for sale on ebay!! might have to be a new one ouch!! where would be best to get one from?

Ive got the manual printed off now!! flippen heck im going to be busy sussing that all out, i felt a bit confused just looking at how to ground ballance!

ps, what ground would typically be high in mineral other than the beach so i know i,m heading into somewhere where the DD 18 is going to be right at home...

Which 10" coil is the one you got? is the coil eliptical? and does the machine come with the 8" concentric it had when new?

Hi Jeff, yes thats really how my address reads....the Dreamsville is just the name of my house...wicked eh...! re my coil its the circular DD 10.5 18.75 ... is this good?? being as i want to work farmers fields ploughed and pasture and hit the beach to do dry and wet...

sadly i dont have the original coil it only came with this one.... what other coil do i need? and wheres the best place to get cheap, notice theirs not many ones on ebay!!
