X-Terra 705 arrived!

Out of the box impressions are, it's easy to set up and has nice feel / balance. The linearity of the disc and sens is excellent and it's stability is very good. Looking forward to some nice weather here in NJ so I can get out and give it a real world review. I also own an MXT and hope to video a side by side comparison for depth, target resolution, stabilty, etc. Right now the MXT has an edge on construction, 705 has the edge on weight. More to come.

Good luck with the 705, I have a hunting bud that switched to the X-Terra from the MXT and the 705 has been his main machine for over a year now!!!

Can't wait to hear and see your testing results. I enjoyed the vid you did on the Vaquero Vs Etrac, so I expect a good comparison of the Xterra 705 will be similar.

Thanks. This 705 is a very nice md with good technology. I'm sure at some point I'll do a few comparisons with the Vaquero as well.

It's a very nice md. I can say the digital settings on the 705 vs analog on the MXT, will make adjusting on the fly much easier.

In addition to the obvious technological differences, I think you'll find the notch discrimination and multiple audio tones will allow you to "hunt by ear" with great accuracy. JMHO HH Randy

yes yes yes digger it sure is a joy to use :clapping:

I can tell you I'm impressed with the linearity of the sens as it relates to depth, very smooth. I have a slue of targets both ferrous and non-ferrous and have been testing the notch, and although it does not have the resolution of an Etrac, it appears to be accurate and repeatable, just fine for where I hunt. Looking forward to getting it out there in the real world. The bad news - we got hit with 3 inches of snow today here in NJ. I appreciate the comments.

Yes a test MXT vs 705 is a good one to do, but I would be very interested in an E-Trac vs 705 test also.

Yes the E-Trac with the 2 different sets of numbers has better resolution than the 705. But I would like to know if the same type of coin on edge, at an angle, corroded, worn down more, etc. gives different readings and effects(throws off) the E-Tracs 2 sets of numbers(resolution) making it somewhat ineffective.??

Hey Mike just wondered what your impressions are on the X-Terra 705 since you have had it for awhile now. I'm comparing the Outlaw to the 705 any input would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ray

You will love it.
