X-Terra 705 Gold?

Anybody hear when the new X-Terra 705 Gold will be released? I heard Minelab will start shipping to their dealers at the end of the month.
Seems they have done a really good job keeping this new release quiet.....I haven't heard peep on the forums.

According to my dealer it comes stock with the Pro Coil. Except for maybe some graphic changes that's about it. Apparently Minelab Los Vegas has already started receiving them from the factory and they will ship to their dealers in a few weeks. My dealer said he is only getting 2 and I have a down payment on one of them.

Thanks very much for that! Good, we have wanted a PRO coil for some time now. I suppose this new stock X-Terra PRO coil is a MF(7.5 kHz) DD and not a Concentric, so no more Concentric. The stock Concentric was very good with TID numbers and discrimination, I hope the new PRO DD coil is just as good.

I wonder if the new PRO MF DD will get (the same, a little, or a lot) better performance than the old 10.5" MF DD? I would also like to know how much lighter in weight it is?

Also sounds like no internal electonic changes in the new 705 Gold, only cosmetic graphic changes on the face plate?

If that is so, then X-70(5) owners can just buy an aftermarket PRO coil for their present machines.

I suppose there will also be a PRO HF(18.75 kHz) DD for beach hunters available also. We want a PRO LF(3 kHz) coil for coin hunters.

Minelab are you listening, BUT where is our round 6" LF DD? And where is a 10x18" LF DD?

Yes that is the Gold Pack......you get the HF 5x10 coil as well as the stock 11" Pro Coil. If you just buy the 705 Gold then you just get the 11" Pro Coil.

The 705 Gold is the same 705 housing, repackaged with the 6 X 10 elliptical at 18.75 kHz instead of the 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz. Nothing new electronically. Just the capability to order a 705 with a different coil, (in this case the elliptical DD) similar to the European market where you can order them with the 10.5 inch round DD. JMHO HH Randy

What I would have to wonder is if the (still a rumor) "Pro Coil" will be any better than the 10.5 DD at 7.5khz. It would have to be a bunch better for me. I would love to do a side by side if this coil becomes available. I hope it does. I am sure it would be lighter. That would be a plus. The most promising thing IMO would be a narrower detection width.

I misunderstood my dealer.....They are releasing a 705 Gold and a 705 Gold Package. I think the package comes with the HF 6x10 and the 10.5" DD. The Gold just the 6x10.
Looks like no pro coil coming yet.

It's been released today, apparently. Looks like the 5x10 DD 18.75khz is standard. I didn't see anything about availability though.

Would you care to elaborate on that comment and explain why and how it likes gold please?

I have a 705 and find plenty on coin mode but have yet to get any gold with it on prospecting mode!

I bought the 'Dual' pack. Comes with both the standard and DD 10.5 coil.

I even got a control box cover and a ML carry bag thrown in. Great value.
