X-Terra Book

Seems like there was a post sometime ago asking if there was a book similar to Andy's EX/Etrac coming out for X-Terras. I believe Randy indicated that there was one in the works. Just wondering if anyone has an update?

I've been working on the X-Terra booklet for quite awhile. I thought I had it about completed. However, the more I use them, the more information I feel needs to be in print. I wouldn't go so far as to say it compares to Andy's books. But I think it will be beneficial to those wanting to better understand their X-Terras. I'm still a few weeks away from finalizing what I have. In the meantime, take a stroll through the posts in this forum and you'll get a pretty good education on the X-Terra. HH Randy

I think you're way too modest. I read through a lot of what you and others have posted and it has been a major help in getting me up to speed on my 705. I continualy refer to the FAQ in learning the finer points of getting the most out of my machine. Thanks,
Ron

Putting together a book for these must be a daunting task... It seems there is always new info and caveats coming out.

Randy (Digger) is probably one of the nicest and most knowledgeable persons I've seen when it comes to Metal Detecting. He is right there to help us all, newbie or veteran. I'm looking forward to his book on the X-Terra's when he completes it. Thanks Randy for your effort and best wishes to you this coming year from your detecting friend from Wisconsin. HH Joe

Can 't wait to see that book Randy. Thanks for all you do for the forum and x-terra users.

An X-Terra book is needed very badly. The Instruction Manual is just a brief overview and does not explain a fraction of what a person needs to know.

Randy(Digger), you are an expert in the use of the X-Terra 70(5) for coins and jewellery. Maybe BarnacleBill could add a bit on beach hunting. But you do not prospect for gold nuggets with it. Will some gold prospecting information be in that booklet? When that booklet is ready, you could get it copyrighted, and then available for mail order, so we can pay you and order if from you. You would not need glossy-shiny expensive pages, just normal rougher paper is fine. Also there is a Desk Top Publishing program(and advice) for computers(Windows or Mac) so you can make your own booklet at home using your own printer. I bought a couple of such booklets about nugget hunting that looks like they were made at home or home made. We do not need fancy, just information.

Can I add a suggestion to also add one(1) chapter in your booklet about the Musketeer Advantage, or maybe you have already thought about that?

Question:

X-Terra 70(5), why do you do that? Isn't it easier just to write 705...are you trying to make an obscure point or something? Just curious,! Cheers, John.

Refers to both the Xterra 70 and the Xterra 705

I've had the Xterra 70 for years and feel I know it about as good as anyone. But I'm sure I could get a wealth of new information from Randy's book. He's the man.

I would also enjoy a book. I use the FAQFAQ a bunch. I have learned more from it than any other place, Beale.

YES thank you TURNMASTER, exactly and precisely, because it refers to both machines, the X-70 and 705. No obscure point at all, but rather it is very clear.

As Goes4ever said, many own the X-70, and to just write 705 would leave out the X-70.
