X-Terra Lower Rod

My X-Terra 5X10 DD 18.75 coil broke at one of the bolt uprights. Just popped the upright right off, clean. I can't seem to keep a good glue job on it because it keeps popping off. I think I'm going to just get a lower rod and permanently glue the upright to the bolt, head side to support the upright. Then if I ever needed to change heads I would just change the lower rod too. Would be cheaper than getting another coil. Does anyone think Minelab will replace the coil outright? Anyway LOOKING FOR A LOWER ROD. Thanks, GaryC/SanBdno.

If the warranty is still valid, and it wasn't broken by force, they will replace the coil at no charge. In fact, even it if isn't under warranty, I'd bet they'd replace it for you. Best thing is to call them Monday and tell them the problem. I'm sure they will treat you right.

The coil is two years old and not under warranty anymore, according to Minelab. I called them today and they weren't receptive to a replacement. I did find a lower rod so will try my repair method as a backup. I have had some good leads on a good epoxy. Thanks, GaryC/SanBdno.

An old welder told me that you weld cast iron with cast iron and plastic with plastic. Now if you could only find a plastic weld kit? You might try a search?

Look at motorcycle repair places for plastic welding its been used for years repairing those expensive bike parts. Dan
