I’ve been looking at this new 5x10 and performance for a coin hunter isn’t any better than the 9 inch imo.

Woody.
Using MF the hf2 coil rocks looking for rings, nickels.
Shallow and mid depths this coil as far as small coil using MF is in a class all by itself.
Top of the food chain for small coil on nickels! You heard here Woody. No BS.
You can believe it or not use this coil and hunt by the numbers on screen, dig little to no foil, likely no foil, and little can slaw. And looking for gold rings, user if using this coil right won’t dig much can slaw and likely zero smaller and bigger foil.
Some folks haven’t connected the dots yet.
And comparing an Elliptical, coil to a round coil and throwing overboard not the smartest thing to do imo.
You want to see some of this.
The testing.
The actual hunts where I call the tsrgets before digging.
Likely not the best small coil for high conductive coins.
But gold rings, nickels, maybe even smaller gold coins up to around the $10 range.
This coil might get you one one and dig little bs.
Look here.

PS
Go down in detector comparison sub forum. Think I put some videos up there too.

Oh yeah. My hf2 coil ain’t going anywhere!!!
Least till something (small coil MF) that can beat it at what it does

I agree with you on the nickels and foil, etc. I was just saying or coins and unmasking coins in thick iron it doesn’t seem any better than a 9 inch.

Woody you can’t compare a round 9” to an elliptical. Elliptical can have advantage over the 9” FMF. You have to in the wild come upon the situation.
Same goes for for manticore and its 9” and m8 coil.
Truth be told.
If we go back to the old days before multi freq. smaller coils has more advantsfe over bigger coils back then. But these were single freq and has zero speed setting for the most part (Deus 1 excluded).
So enter MF. The gap is closed more so for small coil advantage.
And higher freq is being used in the multi freq platforms,
Unlike CTX, Etrac, cz3d and even whites V3i.

One of the problems is folks have went round d and round in their sites using say 11” and 9” coils, trying to clean them out.
Makes it harder for smaller coil to show Ifself.
Takes patience for small coil. And finds pouch in already hard hunted site likely won’t be runneth over.
But one nice find is all it takes huh.
