XP DEUS/F75SE (REDUNDANT OR COMPLEMENTARY?)

BHMACK

New member
Well, I'm about ready to hang the Bianchi back up in the garage and take the detectors down. I love the start of a new season! This time of year I occasionally get the bug for the latest gear and have recently been reading up on the XP Deus. My Minelabs are getting rough on my hands/fingers and it seems I'm running across more and more .3 Fe ground w/ the F75 that really reduces performance (.1/.3 on the Fe meter and the probability of buttons in a particular area seem to coincide much to my chagrin).

As an avid F75SE fan I'm curious to know if some of you guys (gals) that have used both find they fill the same niche to similar degrees or does one outshine the other in any particular way. Is the Deus quieter? Is the F75 deeper in mild/.3Fe soil? Does the Deus sing out on a good target 4ways like the Fisher? Does the Deus handle > Fe soil better than the Fisher? Does the Deus thrive cranked up and screeming like a banshee like the F75 does? Is a good hit on the Deus obvious even when dealing with ultra high sens and emi?

I'm not a 'which is better' noob. I ask for the info on the Deus in contrast with the F75SE particularly because I know that unit so well and I find I can get more usable info this way as opposed to pure statistics. I'm looking for the subtle differences in how they operate, specifically in field/pasture/high iron environments with particular interest in audio info/feedback and capabilities on mid conductors (ie relics) in low to mid Fe ground.

Thanks for any thoughts.....

(PS: not sure why I don't post on this forum as much as I do on others but I read many times more threads here than anywhere else. This is the best forum for research. Hands down. Cheers.)

The Deus is much quieter. The F75 is a little deeper than the Deus with the stock coil. I tried the bigger coil on the Deus and didn't care for it. Maybe if rumor is correct and they bring a 11" DD coil out, it will hit deeper. Yes, you will know when you get a good multi way signal. I had both, couldn't handle how chatty the F75 ltd was, still have the Deus. JMHO.

Agreed! The Deus works the trash and iron like nobody's business! Holler if you have more questions!

The Deus is so much quieter and smoother even at high sensitivity than the F75. It is much, much more versatile with the different frequencies and even lighter than the F75. I have been a F75 lover ever since they first came out but the Deus is a much better machine for relics in my opinion. It hits so hard on even the tiniest targets and is so fast and dead on that pinpointing is a dream come true.

Thanks guys! Awesome info. Thanks for the comment Ray as it's good to hear a 'F75 lover' like me confirm what it sounds like the Deus is. I hope a hot 11"DD is in the works. Sounds like another inch or so of depth would erase the only weakness I see when comparing the two......
