XP Deus for Relics

Well-known member
I have asked several questions to some concerning the use of the XP Deus and Relic Hunting. Where we hunt we have pretty high ground mineralization and Hot Rocks. I like and use the MXT PRO and like this detector, but the hot rocks can drive this thing crazy at times. My new question is how well does the Deus handle heavy ground mineralization and the hot rocks? I have been reading more and more success stories regarding the XP Deus. I should add also that I live and hunt in Georgia. Any feed back regarding this would be most appreciated.

I can't tell you about Georgia only Indiana, but here's what I can say. I have been metal detecting for around 13 years I have used quite a number of different machines and I have never seen a detector handle ground mineralization like the deus. Where I live our farmers put fertilizer after fertilizer year after year which makes the soil very mineralized that's before the added extreme amounts of iron the deus has to sort through on top of that in my normal field site. This machine sorts through targets LIGHTNING FAST and accurately. I have been pulling mid 1800s flat buttons between the iron in a highly mineralized field after all the easy targets had been picked over that no one else can find through the iron. Now the deus did not give me a VDI number on these hard to sort out targets, but it gave me that small "dig me" signal in full tones which takes a sec to catch on to and learn. I can only tell you from my small experience with it in field sites. I can tell you it loves to ring up high on aluminum and pull tabs which is very frustrating sometimes I would say its not a park machine. But if your off the beaten path looking for relics over the years I couldn't find a better machine than the deus for relics. Hope this helps.

Best Regards, Weston

I agree with Weston. I been civil war relic hunting for 45 yrs, and the deus best detector I used. I went to some of my hunted out sites an found bullets & button's couldn't see how we miss them.

what prog and setting are u using ?

Thank you gentlemen for the feed back and information on the Deus. It certainly gives one something to think about.

Try this relic program out guys... I don't have to deal with hot soil so I cant help.
