xp setting

Hello
is there anyone who can help me with a good setting for my deus 3.2, I go mostly on the new-sown fields in Denmark, and looking for Iron Age and Viking Age and older coins, I use the new 11 inch head, has trouble to find out what Silencer must be at -1. 0 1 or 2 hope you have some good ideas,

Here is a couple guys in the UK use:

Deus version 3.2 programs and tips

I have assigned them 2 names "Hot" and "Cold"

Cold is for cold searching, this is when you are on a new field and are trying to find the hot spots, or simply coin shooting / relic hunting

Hot is to be used when you have found your area of ancient habitation and want to get the most out of your productive patch, this setting finds tiny Roman and hammered coins amongst iron and has a unique high tone which is great for identifying high conductive targets such as deep silver coins or large artefacts.
Use factory defaults if feature is not mentioned

Cold
Load up the default Gold Maxx Power settings....Change
Discrimination.....6
Tones...2 tones >Tone 1 (202) Tone 2 (702)
Frequency....11.7
You can see how close to the factory pre sets these settings are, however small tweaks can make a big difference.

Hot
Load up the Deus fast program....Change
Discrimination.....between 0 and 5, if you have problems identifying differenced between low tones use disc 5 and dig every repeatable tone
Tones....Full tones
Iron Vol.....0
Audio response....3-4
Here we have some big changes, at first don't be afraid to use a discrimination of 3 - 5 until you get used to the audio feedback.

many thanks for that, :) what about expert settings in sensitivity that you can choose 1,2,3 and in reactivi you can set the silencer to -1. 0 1 2 3 4 what is best

Hello, this is my setting to search small items in this kind of period :
2 tones : 0 to 6 : 100 Hz ; 6 to 99 : 800 Hz
Reactivity : 3
Ferrous volume : 0
Sensibility : 96
Silencer : -1
Saturation : 2 (I like to know that the item is a small coin, easily recognized by the overload of a big coin, but as you want)
Frequency : 18 Khz
Tx 2
That's it I guess, dig everything sounds high and this will rock your world, I'd like to search some vikings coins, amazing stuff!
Enjoy

Hi,
yeah saturation must be a french word, so yes it means audio overload, and TX2 because in old places, there's a lot of little iron pieces, so TX3 is too much, it will blank the pretty litlle stuff you're looking for because of the iron mask , and if it's too polluted, TX should be at 1.
See ya: )

Oh yeah, TX2 is doing the job very well, but of course, if you know that the soil is ironless (not so sure this word exist ^^), you cant put on the TX3. I'm talking about catching small silver coins, really tiny coins, about 0.6 cm for 0.6 g... so the biggest coins can't slip through the net. So I hope to see your finds on this forum. Good metal detecting day to you.

okay. I thought that if tx was on 3 had more power on, and easier to find signals in the ground ..

I was out and swing yesterday, but got constant false signals, my options were

Discover 4.0
sensitive 94
freq 17.6
iron vol 0
reactivi 2
audio re 4

Hello, you're disc is too low, 6 to 6.8 is a good deal, when you've got the silencer at -1, don't forget that some irons will crack more than usual, but this is the only way to raise more and more the reactivity of the Deus in a ferrous spot. If your field game was full of litlle iron, maybe the TX3 was too high. The audio response at 7 (in my case) increase the small and deepest sounds of a litlle item, but it raises the false signals too, it's just an habit, but you should try 5 or 6.

When you project to search some antic coins, the metal detector has to be the most sensitive, so it could appears more unstable...but this is the key to success in this very specific case.
Forget the notch, when a target is closed of a ferrous, and specially a little coin like billon coins or silver, or if the soil is higly mineralized, the ID is drag to the low ID, so you need to dig everything, of course most of the time, good items are found beetween 30 to 98, but sometimes it does worth it. If you don't want to dig the small ID just look the ID on the RC screen and feel free to dig according you're desire.

It's difficult to explain everything accross a forum, not in my maternal language, it would have been better to help you side by side on the field, but, well, I will try to help as I can
See ya

PS : don't forget to put manually the silencer at -1 on reactivity 2 BUT don't forget that if the soil is full of ferrous pieces, like rusty nails, the reac should be at 3.

i) in a first place sorry everybody, i've got some english writing issues, so sometimes I think it's difficult to understand me, I'll try to fix it
ii) you're welcome martinJ
iii) merci for the drink ^^

Hmm, I actually don't have any mineralized soils at home, but sometimes there are some ferrites... so I used to set the GB at 87 anytime except when these ferrites are crossing my coil, at this moment I notch the ferrites with the GB notch. If the bargraph increase badly, you've got to pump the soil and add +1 or +2 at the GB ID, except if this ID is too low, it will false every signals, in this specific case, raise the GB ID until the MD become stable.

I had spent 3 hours on the field today, with the new settings, there were many false signals, but once you get used to it it's no problem, try something new today, I got weak signals at 95-97 but stable it turned out to be very deep signals, and came, button-up, old bronze pieces, Viking Age / Middle Ages bronze birds, and a cross jewelry from year 400 :) unbelievable that can be caught in the Depth, bronze birds is usually about 65, but in the Depth, came the signal by 95

Nice finds, very nice, the fibula is pretty cool! You're right, the ID of deep targets is higher than it should be on the air or shallow depth. Most of the coins I'm looking for are about 60-74 (ID) but there are very small and could ring at about 96/97 when they are deep inside the soil. ID is just an info, but it's great for shallow coins/targets.
Keep going, and for the false signals, I admit that Deus is chatty because it is on the limit of stability, but you'll need to pratice again and again so you will recognize the bad signals between the good ones.

Oh, I forgot, I've got a trick for these deep targets : create the same program just after your 2T prog, but change the reactivity from 3/2 to 1, the accurancy will be greater. So you just have to press + to change the prog and then return to the initial prog.
Bye

after I have made the program I want to search on and saved it. I can not go into the expert in sens, why not

I'm not so sure to understand your problem, you have saved the second program next to the first and then you tried to join the TX menu, you failed? the expert menu has disappeared? I heard some people complain about this bug, did you tried to shut down the deus and restart it to see if the menu reappears?

yes it is the problem, on deus programs there is no problem, yesterday there was no problem in the program I made but today expert away in same program
