I just got an used xp deus . It only came with the wireless headphones for a remote control. It also came with the wristband for the control but the control won't work unless it's attached to the headphones? Also how can one identify the target types one locates. Or the target depth? I have several other detectors but this one is completely different.

If you did not get a remote then you bought the light version. If you want a good book on the XP then buy Andy Sabisch's XP Deus Handbook. You can by it direct from him at sabischbooks.com and he will personally sign the copy for you.
And Gary's videos are great but remember his videos are set up for Europe hunting not United States hunting
