Okay I will probably be shot down by the Whites enthusiasts but I am really tempted to upgrade(?) to an affordable 2nd hand Miunelab Xterra 30 for a Whites Coinmaster Classic III,is this a good move?.I do love the way you get an LCD screen for one and the fact it has multi tones and numbers and the fact that you can choose which junk targets to discriminate!! :).As me and a friend go hunting in the Woods (United Kingdom) we do dig a hell of a lot of Shotgun cases !!Even with discrimination up high they still show up as a fairly good beep depending on how close to the surface they are which of course means alot of digging crap!! haha!!.I know you guys will be biased towards the Xterra and i do love the quality build of my old Whites Coinmaster Classicwhich I may yet keep as a back up detector if I can afford to !! Please can anyone tell me of any Pros and cons on the upgrade to the Xterra 30 and many thanks and happy hunting :) The Spaceman

X-30 is a very good MD. I have one as a back-up that is 9 years old and still going strong. It's a coin killer, hits gold and silver like a champ, the screen like on other xterras is very helpful when combined with knowing the tones, its lite weight, and has great battery life.
Don't think you should be paying too much for one....I've seen used ones here in the states for around $150.00.> $200.00 I doubt you will be disappointed. GL

Is a great little machine!! I have had the Whites Coinmaster in the past and the X-Terra will blow it's battery door off as par a performance. Put the 10.5 DD coil on it and it will hunt with the big boys. I have 2 X-Terra 70's and a X-Terra 30, which I use for park hunting and our clubs seeded hunts. If you can get it for under $200, Jump on it!! The lower the serial #### the better as the early X-Terras with the SN under 3000 were made in Ireland and are just a tad hotter. Remember althou it is a great machine, it only operates at the 7.5kHz Medium Freq, unlike the later 305 which can operate at the mid & high freq.. Good luck with it if you get it!!!......Mark

I ran across a 30 at locale pawn shop yesterday. Minelab bag, headphones & detector for $89.00. Seems to work ok. I talk with him for awhile....doesn't really know what he has. Might go back and pick it up for a backup or for a newbie to use.
