xterra obsolete

Having owned an XTerra 50 since 2006 and this being my first metal detector, I have been happy with it and plan to keep it, but having bought an Equinox last October, I would have to say that it has replaced my 50.
I have not been impressed with a detector as much as this one.. not saying it is the greatest detector made, but it has impressed me very much.
I have in addition to the XTerra 50 a Sovereign which has also impressed me, but it is getting heavy now to use.
They both have been sidelined by the Equinox.
What I like about the Equinox is the fact that there is no need to ground balance and to me in my area, this is a huge plus.
I also have not found any ground where it simply would not perform unlike the Sovereign.... red clay?.. ..forget it in my opinion with the Sovereign.
Will the XTerra line be obsolete... no, but for me I have found the Equinox to be more effective where I detect.
Will Minelab stop producing the XTerras down the road.. most likely yes at some point.
I know the 705 and even the 505 have more features than my 50, and had considered buying a used 705 before buying the Equiniox, but I am no longer interested in the 705 at this point.
I simply feel the Equinox has replaced both my XTerra 50 and my Sovereign GT.
With that said, I think I made a good decision in getting the XTerra when I decided to get into the hobby.
