All, just scored a nice one (8.5 out of ten condition) and can't wait to get relic hunting with it!!!:whites::usaflag:

I sold a an XL pro some time back and have been kicking myself since sold (listened to the wife on that one).

I think I might like this one better because of the manual ground balance as I like full control on a detector. How would this machine
work in tot-lots using the TR disc mode? I was thinking the 5.3 coil might give an edge in this area?

I'm curious if anyone has tried this and any pointers you might have with this question.

Thanks!

Hi diggindirt

I bought a 5900 CB last year and could'nt be happier with it, just get a 5.3 BullsEye or BlackMax 6 1/2 inch coil for it. With the 6 1/2 inch coil on it you can adjust the signal balance higher and get about the same depth as the stock 950 coil can! The smaller coil (with higher signal balance) allows a slower sweep speed in the GEB/Disc mode and handles the trashy areas better than the 950 coil. The TR/Disc mode is OK for moderate soil conditions and tot lots........ I would think tot lots would have a very low mineral content. Good luck with yours.
