How do you manage to get all that swing time in.

Nothing fancy really.......auto GB and noise cancel, sensitivity as high as I can stand it - usually 27 to 30, pattern #1 modified to reject -8, -6, -4, +48, accept everything else.
Dig everything over +12 and some below depending of clarity of tone and type/quantity of trash being dug.

I work 10 hours days so just 4 days a week.....lots of time to hunt.

I keep a MD diary with details of all my hunts. Helps to keep track of what works and any patterns that develope.
