Guys

I love my ACE 250. Been using it over 3 years. used it 2 days ago, no problems. Got it out today, running in jewerly mode (run there all the time) I was using the stock coil, the thing started picking up on the foil signal and won't quit. I put the sniper coil on and evevything is fine. I use a sunray probe. I tried it with and without the probe..stock coil freaks out and sniper is fine. I aint real smart but sounds like a bad stock coil. Anybody heard of this before? I also pulled the coil cover and left it off in case something was under it. Please help I'm corn-fused

I believe you answered your own question. Send the stock coil to Garrett and see what they do?

I'd say your coil may be freaking out on you. Garrett has had coil problems in the past but not with the 250 that I know of. Contact Melinda at melinda.harper@garrett.com and tell her what is happening. If it's a bad coil they may send you one for free.

I believe treasurefiend had trouble with his ace250 coil awhile back, maybe ask him what he found out

You might try a shot of contact cleaner on the plug of the coil wire. Could be a little junk on the prongs....Get Dirty....Dirty Don.......

The day after buying mine the coil had to be replace because of the same problem -- Graw

I had the same problem with my 9 x 12 coil and i sent it back to Garrett and they replaced it.
