I pulled into the first big sportsfield 10 min before sunup. Looked into the nearest trash can and knew I hit the jackpot! I grabbed a big garbage bag out of the car and quickly ran around the field, going through every trash can there digging through them, and stuffing all the 10c redeemable empty cans I could find into the trash bag...I didn't even take the F70 out of the car, jumped back in and went to another field, it was garbage can full too. I got all the cans I could and tossed them into the car, wiped my hands off on a shirt some kid left there and fired up the 70 and whirled around there scarfing up clad. I got back to the car at 9am, and as I got into it, there were yellowjackets buzzing around all over the damn place! 
Evidently, they were sleeping in some of the cans and were now wide awake in the warm car, all jacked up on sugar and caffiene! I paid no attention to them and drove on over to the nearest can redemption machine, by the time I got there, most of the yellowjackets had went back into the bag with the empties, so I held the top shut and went to the can machine, which was clear in the back of a supermarket...I started chucking cans through the machine and the yellowjackets were flying all over the place, they must have figured they were in heaven with all those empties there, not to mention all the fabulous grocerys in the store! I had a pocket full of dirty clad from the morning and yesterday afternoon, so I ran it through the coinstar after I got done with the cans...I had 55 cans for 5.50 and 4.48 clad, and 2.50 more of clean clad that I did not run through the machine. It was 9:20 by the time I was done cashing out so I headed over to 3 of my usually great fields, and they were all locked up tight!
So I started freestylin door entrances and picked up a few more stray bucks...All in all, I figure I got 11 dollars by 11 am, I was on pace for a good haul but...well short of my goal of 20, then it really started to rain hard and the temp dropped, so I came home to sort out my gear and see if theres anything around here I need to do...might go back out...thinking of going outside the green zone, but I dont know....its still a little too warm to be safe in there, best to do those places in November when its blowing sleet and cold..or not at all... Found a token the size of a silver dollar from the local zoo. Had fun for an old guy, didnt get stung either.

I went over to the totlot, its big and gravel, real hard to hunt on account of the hot rock chatter, and always good for a few bucks, but not today! Again, another one of my "used to be great" totlots empty! I have not found one decent totlot since late last year...
Like JimTn said, either kids aint carrying money anymore, or everybody and their brother that live near a school has got a detector and is working them constantly?
