thanks John
Steve

That 65 is silver. They stopped making them in 1968. That year, they made both clad and silver. Dimes, quarters and half dollars all fit into that catagory. I haven't been land hunting a whole lot lately as we have a mosquito population explosion after the flooding we had last month. I have been water hunting a lot and have been getting lots of clad and rings. I hope we get a good hard early frost to kill all those little bugs. I can't wait to get back to the woods . Hope things are going well with you Steve. Digging any silver is a real bonus these days. Happy-Hunting out their, eh!

I have a few that are magnetic. Why did they do that John?

The ones that are magnetc of course are not silver. 1968 produced both silver coins and clad coins for circulation. Why? Probably to save $$$. So what denomination and year are those coins that stick to magnets?

The type of magnet they would stick to are the flexible, soft type. Like the kind of magnet that they use in signs that they stick on the door of a car.- Bill/Wa.

late 60's I think.
Not sure, I'll have to dig them up over at my dads house. Kind of forgot about them till I read Steve's post.
