I went to Sanford and MD between the sidewalk and the street. I had a cop stop and was staring at me. I took the headsets off to hear if he was going to say something. Nothing. I broke the silence by offering him a live bullet I found. He told me to throw it in the trash. He then said that my MDing can make people nervous. I told him if someone made a complaint, I would gladly move on. He said,"no one complained" and drove off. He never said anything about the weapons I was carrying.:rofl:Just joking. They act like a metal detector is a weapon and maybe I should have a permit.
This is the whole pile.

Cleaned up pile. These were the greenest coins I have ever dug.

Three wheat's: 1941, 1954,1956

....just wanted to see what you find because he detected the area with his 1000 $ detector and was just pi$$## to see that you found so many coins.

....just wanted to see the detector everyone is talking about on the Internet.

....Just wanted to see a little color in the city and he liked that yellow.

.....just wanted to let you know to use the sniper coil in extreme trash.

.....just wanted lot let you know that you can find help at findmall if you have a problem with your detector.

.....just wanted to steel your silver coins if you would find any.

He belonged to the local club. He wanted to see the ACE. He let me know he uses a much (better) higher priced detector. He wanted to know how deep I was finding my wheat's. If I found any silver, because he has only found one in Sanford.
He was a nice guy. He wanted me to come to his club meeting, Friday. I told him I hope I am not in FL. Friday( supposed to be moved by then. HA) Before he left he pull out a LARGE GOLD CHAIN with a GOLD RING on the end of it. He found it in 2" of dry sand at Daytona two months ago.
Hey, I could have even found that with my cheaper MDer.

If I had a white tee-shirt, hard hat and jeans that would not help me.
It's the man, not the clothes. I an 6' 2" and 292 lbs. He looks like a nerd with a lot of tattoos. If I had all those tattoos I would be scarier yet.
Maybe people look at me and get the wrong impression. I am a quiet guy who likes photography and nature. I have taught Sunday school and scouts. I play the violin and organ. I am a graduate of a bible collage. I have been with my wife for 27years and I don't have any tattoos.

If you are hunting those areas between the street and sidewalk, get a $5 red safety vest and put it on. Nobody will say anything to you as you look like a city worker or some such. Plus, eratic drivers might see you and not run you over. I always carry one in the car just for that purpose. Makes you look like you are working, not out there having fun!! JMHO

a weapon !

Like your search zone between the sidewalk and road.....gotta try that one. Do you get people running out of their houses telling you to leave?

The bottom line, it's on the easement. I just started detecting the dirt areas between the sidewalk and road. If it's dirt / weeds it's on. If it's nice grass I will leave it alone.

I don't MD it if the people have a nice lawn. I sure many are curious and want to know what I am doing. I take the headphones off to greet them and we usually get talking for a while. I let it side because it is good P.R. In the town of Lk. Helen People drive by wave and toot their horns. The police have gotten to know me there and are very friend. People have given me leads and in a few cases I have returned things to their owners.
Today I went to an area that got hit by tornadoes three weeks ago. I was on a dead end dirt road that had a 1884 house on it that got destroyed. The demo guys told me that the owner wasn't around, but the road was a county road. So I went to playing in the dirt road. The owner came by and was very friendly. He wanted to cut a deal with me to MD his property next week after all the debris is cleared. I told him I probably won't be here next week. He gave me his name and phone # and said if I knew of anyone to call him. I should have read the paper. I pulled my keys out of my pocket and lost the paper.
After that two other neighbors stopped to talk. One wrote down Kellyco's address and ph.# off my Ace. I think I just made a sell for Kellyco.
I stayed in the right of way, but got off the road and found a 1927 cent and two clad cents.
I have been with my wife for 27years and I don't have any tattoos.
If I remember, I could have sworn I saw a picture of you floating around with a :garrett: tattoo

really got me thinking of a whole new area I've over looked all these years. Interesting enough my wondeful wife went for a walk the other day and came home with a 1947 maple leaf silver quarter (Canadian) and said she found it on the grass near the sidewalk. She then began teasing me how she can find old coins without a detector. I never really thought to much about it till now. Thanks for the input....I'll try it this weekend and post my finds.

Yea, I remember your picture too. How would you like to see it with you wearing a pink dress. Don't you love computers.
