Out doing the chores and when I moved one of the plants, I found this fellow. He sure blends in and I have never seen one this big before. I went and got my camera and a silver dollar I had found and put it on him for a size comparison.

My mother was weeding her flower garden at the ranch when she met a rattler about a foot long. Being utterly unafraid of snakes, she simply picked up a stick & pounded it over the head until it was dead.
