You can lead a horse to water but...

Pete in MI

New member
if ya can't keep his head above water forget water polo

Seriously though, an opportunity to make lots of money presented itself. I'm already busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger, so told Sherry and she relayed it to a sleeping son-in-law who needs work.

Proposition is snow removal....from roofs. I have a roof (snow) rake to pull snow off the edges of roofs where ice dams form. Clearing the snow from the edges of the roofs allows the remaining snow to melt and run off the roof. Failure to remove the snow at the roof edge causes the melting snow above to get to the snow at the edge and form slush then ice. Once ice has formed it creates a dam that keeps the rest of the melting snow from getting off the roof but instead forms a swimming pool of water. Easy to see if you have ice dams forming...got icecycles? Then there are dams forming.

If you have a flat roof this is even worse as the water - weigh - and moisture can collapse a roof!!! Some people up here are up ON their roofs shovelling by hand to clear the snow off the roofs. Dangerous.

Well so much for the ice dam lesson (even there is so much more). My neighbor is hiring a guy to do it for $200. I told him I have a son-in-law who can do it for a lot less.

Only time will tell if this 'horse' comes to drink (get the roof rake) and make some money or if he will continue to make his pregnant wife support him with her Burger King check.

For those who want some work..here is an idea for you if you're in a snow area.

When it get's deep down here I do it for some of my customers! :)

Bro Pete, It sounds like there's enough work where you live to keep several people busy and making some money for paying needed expenses! Hope the horse drinks ( rakes off the white cold stuff) after he is led to the job he needs to do to help pay the bills! Still praying for Sherry and all of you! God Bless! Betty

Sherry has been have some rough days and feels useless as she cannot do anything without adding more pain and dizziness to the problem and I have not been here to help her

It isn't even 6 am yet and already gotten a nap and have dishes done, one load of laundry in the dryer one in the washer. Not that I am trying to brag or anything or to say she is - in her terms - useless. Just saying there are things needing to be done and have to use what time I have as best as I can and doing what she has been unable to do. Not unable because she is useless....far from useless in so many ways but unable because of her pain and dizziness...neither of which are her 'fault' an enemy has done this.

Sherry just woke to ask if I had slept. Answer...I had a 3-4 nap. So time to go back to a nap til - well whenever and get the clothes out of the dryer and the wet ones in.

Niters Betty

In marriages sometimes we have to do the other one's jobs when we have the time and sometimes both! There are times when sickness abounds and a person cannot do the work that's needing done, but doesn't mean they are useless! Whether 'tis the wife or the husband that is ill or unable to work because of an accident or something which prevents the usual work schedule, each is there to help the other in times of need! Do you know that it is easier for a man to do a woman's work than it is for a woman to do a man's work? I've had to do both and it is not easy, especially, when ill with a weak body!

But Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for helping me to endure and overcome all the things that I've had to face since the divorce and also for helping Sherry and Pete to get through their trials which the enemy has done or is trying to do to them! Amen! God Bless! Betty
