YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK IF..........

It's not!?!?!?! Lol. I have never eaten possum-although many around here have. Not a big fan of anything gamey or greasy...Ick.

I think that is what Liz fixes me all the time.

I figgered you and Liz would like that be-uns youse all iz from 'Tucky. Love you both, you know that don't you?

n/t

I agree with Liz and don't like wild game, although Mom prepared squirrel and some of the other....but not rabbit....couldn't eat that even unto this day! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Years ago I tried some Possum at a hunters 'All Game Dinner'. Just about everything that walked, swam, or flew was on the menu. Black bear meat is greasy too but I loved the Moose and Elk. When it came to Raccoon, I didn't like it at all.

YOU KNOW, I ATE HORSE WHEN I PULLED INTO PALMA, SPAIN FOR A PORT CALL, AND THAT WAS SOME GOOD EATING.

Yeh we knew that. I unlike Liz, like all kinds of wild game. I am a redneck though.

Hi DK; I tred horse meat i Jamaica but it was very tough and chewy or even stringy. I guess it's the way theymake it. Anyway, PEACE:RONB

The horse I ate in Spain was in a burger form. Did not know what it was until the Chief Petty Officer told me what it was after I had eaten 2 or 3. I went back down to the pier and got me some more. My brother said he used to see Fido come in one end of a hamlet in Vietnam, but poor old pooch never came out the other end.

Hi Terry; Yep, Same here in burger fform but it was lousy. I think it was the way they cooked it. I ate about 5 bites and threw t away. Then the guy told me what it was. I was mad at first then I just walked away. I went to England and something similar happened. I was out on a trip camping in the woods and we went to a local "INN" the guy bought some stuff and we went back and ate. About an hour later I didn't feel to good and the guysais, "Gee, It must have been the PIGEON."!!!!!! I hurled all night llong. :puke: GROSS. !!!!!!!! I got sick just thinking about it. Here in Boston they are filthy disgusting creatures that crap everywhere. I was sick over it.!!!!! It's a cultural thing Iguess. I never ate anything there again without asking what it was first. I llost 2 days vacation over that one. :stars: :lmfao: Anyway, Until later; PEACE:RONB

We have way more than our share of possums around here... and armadillos too. The armadillos look just like a possum, only they have some armor! lol We call the armadillos, "Possums on the half shell." I've always heard that possum meat was extremely GREASY. That bit of info comes from some real "old timers" who evidently tried it back in the day. Not me!!! I ain't about to eat a possum!!! And in cause you don't know it, possums can be exceptionally MEAN! They can rip you to shreds if the get ahold of you.

Lisa

Hi Lisa, and most old timers ate 'possom and sweet taters! I think a lot of meat tastes in how it is cooked! I hear deer stks taste like beef stks when treated right after killed and dressed and then cooked properly! A school friend of mine, many long years, ago, was telling my friends and I about this friend of hers had visited one of her friends out West! The friend had killed a rattlesnake and cooked the meat for their supper. My school friend, said that her friend said it was really good eating and wondered what it was? Her friend said she had killed a rattler and the meat she was eating was it! Well, needless to say the friend visiting her in her friend's home out West, went out and vomited, vomited and vomited? You see she liked the taste, but her training in life, told her it was something that she didn't want or shouldn't eat, and so she reacted to the words and not what was eaten!

My dad used to live in Kansas when he was young, next door to a Mexican family and they would catch grasshoppers and fry them in a skillet to eat.....they said they were really good eaten, but dad, grandma, my uncle and aunt didn't.....the idea was most disgusting, as it would be for me even now! But they say, when you get hungry enough and want to survive you will eat anything that isn't poisonous, whether it be worms, bugs or anything for nourishment of the human body! Many did during the war when they got lost or were trying to escape capture by the enemy!

I pray that I nor my family or any of God's Children are ever in that situation, but as the world becomes worse and worse in sinfulness and terrorists as the ungodly try to take over and keep us from our freedoms and capture us under dictatorships, not one person truly knows without Spiritual understanding of what may be or what may be coming upon our nation, that was settled by our forefathers who believed in freely worshiping God Almighty in the name of Jesus! The Revolutionary Wat was fought to free us from the Church of England, whose ways weren't their or our ways of worshiping! God bless all who fought and set us free then and all through the years since and even unto today and probably will be until our Messiah, the One and Only true Savior, comes and reigns with His peace for a thousand years and then His righteous Kingdom on Earth will come with His love and peace forever and ever, for all sin and sinners will be cast into the Lake of Fire along with satan, the false Messiah, the false prophet and the beast. God is three in one and satan is three in one.....for he is a copy-cat and nothing is origianl with him! God will only allow him to go so far and then the time of his ending will come! Amen!

We have a tornado watch today (very cloudy) for St.Louis and surrounding areas and I pray that we escape having one or deaths and damages from any! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for protection from the harmful and sinful things in this mortal life! Amen!

 Ma Betty

Now them Armydillos is cute little creatures, and they may be kind of tasty on the grill. Possums is mean, and ugly too.

Well, to me Tame game is chicken, turkeys, hogs, cows and animals that you raise! Wild game are animals found in the woods and not raised by mankind like fresh and salt water fish, bears, lions, squirrels, crawly critters and the like! Do you know what Smokey the Bear eats after a forest fire? Crispy Critters! Old joke!  May God Bless! Amen!
